Welcome to Piren Restaurang & Bar. Your privacy matters to us, and we are committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains how we collect, use and protect your information, including through the use of cookies.
1. What personal data do we collect?
We may collect and process the following personal data when you visit our website piren-bar.se:
- Contact details (if you complete a form or contact us by email).
- Technical information (IP address, device type, browser, time zone).
- Behavioural data via cookies — but only if you have accepted analytics cookies.
2. How do we use your personal data?
We use your data to:
- Receive and handle table bookings and private hire enquiries.
- Answer questions you send us.
- Analyse visitor traffic and patterns using Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager — but only if you have accepted analytics cookies. If you have not, neither of them loads.
- Improve and optimise the experience of using our website.
3. Cookies and tracking technologies
We use cookies to make the site work and, if you allow it, to understand how it is used. Cookies are small text files stored on your device.
A full, up-to-date list of the cookies we use, what they are called, how long they stay, and of the content loaded from other services, is in our cookie policy. That list is the one that governs — this page only summarises it.
Types of cookies we use
- Necessary — in practice only your own cookie choice, kept in the browser's local storage.
- Analytics — Google Analytics 4 through Google Tag Manager, loaded only after you consent.
- Marketing — none are in use today. Should that change, they will be described in the cookie policy before they are put to use, and will load only after you consent.
Retention
- Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies may be stored for longer — Google's analytics cookies for up to 24 months.
4. Managing cookies
The first time you visit our website you will be asked whether you accept or reject cookies. You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” link at the foot of the site.
5. Sharing of data
We share certain data with third-party services such as:
- Google (Analytics 4 and Tag Manager) — to analyse site traffic, and only if you have accepted analytics cookies. The data may be transferred outside the EU/EEA.
- Bokabord/WaiterAid — our booking system, which receives your table booking.
- Google Sheets, Brevo and Zero Folks — for private hire enquiries, see section 6.
Your data is shared only in accordance with applicable law and only with trusted service providers.
The links to Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and LinkedIn are ordinary links. No content from them is embedded on piren-bar.se, and they learn nothing about your visit until you click through yourself.
6. Private hire enquiries
When you send a private hire enquiry through the form on this website, we process the details you enter: your name, email address, phone number, company if you give one, your preferred date and times, the number of guests, and the choices and comments you add.
Purpose and legal basis
We use these details to answer and handle your enquiry. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before a possible contract, together with our legitimate interest in being able to respond to private hire enquiries.
Who we share them with
- Google (Google Sheets) — your enquiry is recorded in a spreadsheet we use to manage private hire enquiries.
- Brevo — sends the notification to us, and the message to you when an enquiry is accepted or declined.
- Zero Folks — operates the function that receives the form on our behalf.
The form is protected against automated submissions without any third-party service: a hidden field only robots fill in, together with a timing check and a limit on how many enquiries can be sent from one IP address. Nothing about you is disclosed to anyone else for this purpose.
To show which dates are available for private hire, the form retrieves the number of bookings per day from our booking system, WaiterAid. Only the count is used; no details about other guests leave the booking system or appear on the website.
Retention
Enquiries are kept for as long as they are needed to handle the matter, and then for a maximum of 24 months — unless we are required to keep them longer under accounting or other legislation.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- Request access to your personal data.
- Rectify or erase your personal data.
- Restrict or object to the processing of your data.
- Withdraw your consent to cookies and tracking.
8. Contact
